COSMETIC COMPOSITION FOR CUTANEIC APPLICATION AND USE THEREOF
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention is generally in the field of body care compositions, in particular in the field of cosmetics or cosmetics. In particular, the invention relates to a composition for application to the skin and its use as an anti-aging composition.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Wrinkles, sagging skin, bags, dark circles and dehydration are some of the signs of aging. A large number of anti-aging products are for sale that are aimed at preventing and correcting one or more of these phenomena by the active ingredients they contain. Well-known active ingredients that prevent aging include retinol, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E. Another family of products is based on adhesive contracting film formers.
Wrinkles, in their simplest form, are crevasses or valleys in the skin. When an adhesive contracting film former is applied, the skin at the bottom of the trough or slit can be pulled to the surface, causing the skin to look smooth and wrinkle-free. The disadvantages of existing adhesive contracting film-forming products include discomfort caused by skin contraction, skin irritation, cracking of the film when the user uses facial muscles, incompatibility with other cosmetic products in the regime and visibility of the film, which usually whitish and striking.
Compositions based on the film-forming capacity of sodium silicates have been described in the art. For example, WO 2013/109850 provides a skin smoothing composition comprising: a) about 0.5 to about 4% sodium silicate, measured as silica content (SiO 2 ); b) from about 0.1% to about 4.0% of a polyvalent silicate; c) about 10 to 98% water; and wherein the weight ratio of the sodium silicate to the polyvalent silicate is at least 0.7 and the composition is in the form of an aqueous gel or oil-in-water emulsion. A second composition that smoothes the skin comprises: a) about 0.5 to about 4% sodium silicate, measured as silica content (SiO 2 ); b) from about 0.1% to about 4.0% of a polyvalent silicate; c) from about 1% to about 20% by weight of a plasticizer; d) about 10 to 98% water; and wherein the weight ratio of the sodium silicate plus the polyvalent silicate to plasticizer is less than 1.8 and the composition is in the form of an aqueous gel or oil-in-water emulsion.
BE2019 / 5032
Such compositions comprise only up to 4% sodium silicate and up to 4% polyvalent silicate. However, the more sodium silicate is used, the greater the effects on wrinkle reduction. On the other hand, larger amounts of sodium silicate lead to the presence of white residues after application to the skin, more skin irritation and less durable dried film on the skin.
In view of the above, there remains a need in the art for further and / or improved anti-aging products for application to the skin.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present inventors have found a composition, in particular a cosmetic composition, that addresses one or more of the aforementioned problems in the art.
Accordingly, a first aspect of the invention relates to a skin application composition, the composition comprising: a soluble silicate; a polyvalent silicate; PEG-75 shea butter glycerides; a thickener; a colorant; and an aqueous carrier.
The present compositions have an improved texture which allows for a pleasant application to the skin, in particular to one or more of facial skin, skin around the eyes, skin of the neckline and skin of the neck. After application to the skin, such compositions advantageously make it possible to form films with improved texture and optimum flexibility while satisfactorily reducing wrinkles, sagging skin, pores, skin clefts, dark circles and / or crow's feet. Furthermore, the present compositions may comprise larger amounts of soluble silicates and polyvalent silicates without causing a striking effect of whitening on the skin.
Accordingly, a further aspect relates to the use of the composition as defined herein, as a cosmetic product, preferably as an anti-aging composition.
A further aspect relates to a method for cosmetically treating one or more of facial skin, skin around the eyes, skin of the neckline and skin of the neck of an individual around one or more of wrinkles, sagging skin, pores, skin clefts, reduce dark circles and crow's feet, including applying the composition as defined herein to the skin of the individual and allowing the composition to dry.
The above and further aspects and preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the following paragraphs and in the appended claims. The content of the appended claims is hereby specifically included in this description.

Example 6: Use of compositions according to embodiments of the invention as anti-aging compositions
Comparative compositions 1 and 2 were used as comparative examples for the composition of Example 2 (cream for neck and décolleté). Instead of butyl rubber derivative and hydrogenated polydecene, 3% polysorbate 80 (Comparative composition 1) or 3% cyclomethicone (Comparative composition 2) was used as the flexibility of soluble silicate promoting agent in the composition. The compositions were applied to the skin of the neck and décolleté and allowed to dry for 3 minutes.
Comparative compositions 3 and 4 were used as comparative examples for the composition of Example 5 (crow's-foot cream). Instead of field marsh flower oil derivative, 1% glycerol (Comparative composition 3) or 1% dimethicone 1000 (Comparative composition 4) was used as the flexibility of soluble silicate promoting agent in the composition. The compositions were applied to the skin around the eyes and allowed to dry for 3 minutes.
For each composition, the flexibility of the skin-soluble soluble silicate film was determined visually for 8 hours. The flexibility was classified as low, medium or optimal as follows:
- low flexibility which means that less than 1 hour after application and drying of the composition on the skin, cracks and / or fractures were visually determined in the soluble silicate film;
- average flexibility which means that cracks and / or fractures were visually determined in the soluble silicate film 1 hour to less than 4 hours after application and drying of the composition on the skin;
- optimum flexibility which means that at the earliest 4 hours after application and drying of the composition on the skin, cracks and / or fractures were visually determined in the soluble silicate film.
The cream for neck and décolleté according to an embodiment of the invention reduced wrinkles of the skin of the neck and décolleté. Optimal flexibility of the soluble
BE2019 / 5032 silicate film observed when the neck and décolleté cream was applied according to an embodiment of the invention. When using only the neck and décolletage cream illustrating the invention, cracks and fractures occurred more than 4 hours after applying and drying the composition to the skin of the neck and décolleté. With comparative compositions 1 and 2, a low flexibility of the soluble silicate film was observed.
The crow's-foot cream according to an embodiment of the invention led to skin smoothing and reduction of crow's-feet around the delicate eye area. Optimum flexibility of the soluble silicate film was observed when the crow's-foot cream illustrating the invention was applied. The use of the crow's-foot cream illustrating the invention led to cracks and fractures more than 4 hours after application and drying of the composition on the delicate eye zone. With comparative compositions 3 and 4, low flexibility of the soluble silicate film was observed.
